Holthausen Energy Points will open the first public green hydrogen filling station in Groningen on Friday 12 November. A hydrogen filling station has been realized in a short time on the Campus of Century Autogroep on Bornholmstraat, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who wants to refuel with hydrogen. At this first public hydrogen filling station in Groningen, cars, vans and trucks can be refueled in 5 to 10 minutes.
What is unique is that the location on Bornholmstraat facilitates both the production and refueling of green hydrogen. A great addition to Century Autogroep’s energy-neutral Campus and the result of an intensive collaboration to make emission-free mobility possible. The electrolyzer at the filling station produces hydrogen based on the energy of 43,000 solar panels on the nearby Woltjespoor solar park.
Driving on hydrogen is the future. About a hundred vehicles are already running on hydrogen in Groningen, but that number is expected to increase soon. The filling station was partly realized thanks to the DKTI subsidy H2toGrow from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management
Open Day
The day after, on Saturday 13 November, there will be an open day. Interested parties can view the green hydrogen filling station at the Bornholmstraat between 9 am and 5 pm. They can also receive an explanation of how the production and refueling of green hydrogen functions.
