If you go to the Ommelander Hospital in Scheemda, you can use the self-driving shuttle between the main entrance and the nearest bus stop. The shuttle transports patients, visitors and staff to and from the hospital. The route is about 1.5 km long.

The province of Groningen, Arriva, ProRail, Alstom and Engie conducted a trial in March 2020 with a hydrogen train. This was the first time that a train ran on hydrogen in the Netherlands. The five organizations involved want to gain more practical experience with this pilot. The province and the parties involved aim to run the trains in the northern Netherlands with zero emissions (without environmentally harmful emissions). The hydrogen train is a good way to meet this requirement, without having to make major investments in catenary systems.

For two years, Qbuzz has been operating two hydrogen buses in Delfzijl in the Groningen Drenthe concession. The use of the two hydrogen buses also involves a hydrogen filling station, where green hydrogen is refuelled in the buses as Nouryon's residual product.
